With age, bone substance, muscles, subcutaneous fat and skin structure will change, leading to loss of volume and loss of the original facial shape. This will show up as sags, dimples or flatness in the face. You will also notice that the bone structure you had before on the cheekbones and jaw is no longer as defined.<\/p>

By placing fillers, you can replace the loss of volume that comes with age. If you use fillers in the chin and jawline, you can tighten up the skin that might sag slightly below the jawline. By adding volume back to your face, the skin and fat deposits will be pulled back slightly from both sides. This also gives a more defined jawline. Chin fillers will also give you a sharper chin, as this can often be seen as flat and square over the years.<\/p>

I always start by looking at your face and skin, as it's important to see if facial contouring is the right treatment for you. It's important to see that your skin quality is good enough so that fillers will fit you well.<\/p>

I then carefully plan how much filler I can place in each area to give you the most beautiful and natural result. My goal is always to perform a facial contour as naturally as possible. And in conversation with you, we will find the result you want.<\/p>

When we are on the same wavelength about what result to expect from the treatment, I always draw up where I intend to place the filler. You'll be involved throughout the process, and I'll explain what I'm thinking and how it's done before I start.<\/p>

On the cheekbones and jawline, I usually make an entrance to the skin with a pointed needle, then I use a cannula, which is basically like a tube without a tip, to insert to place the filler exactly where I've drawn it, and maneuver it in and out of the area. By using the cannula, there is less stinging on your skin and less risk of complications. On the chin, I only inject filler with a pointed needle.<\/p>
